PORTFOLIO
My work revolves around the themes of peace, silence, tranquility, and stillness present in my everyday life; the serene state of seclusion and ultimate freedom from fear, war, disturbance, and violence. This theme is a mock of my “quiet”, introverted personality, as well as a reflection of the universal human pursuit of peace. The work consists of many plants and animals, not only because I have a fascination with wild creatures and nonhuman species, but because they represent human behavior and remind the world that humans are animals as well. I believe that wildlife is sacred and that protection of the gifts of nature is an inherent responsibility for human survival. There is an air of simplicity in my work that illustrates a utopia; an impossible world where the ubiquitous energy that connects all life is purified, and people and creatures of all kind may live peacefully among one another in symbiotic harmony.
